JOEL D. CARVER, MD, FACC is an invasive cardiologist who has practiced in Northwest Arkansas since 1983. He has special training in pacemaker implants, and interventional and diagnostic procedures.

   Dr. Carver earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock in 1978. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at UAMS and completed a cardiology fellowship at UAMS in 1983. He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiology and is a fellow in the American College of Cardiology. Dr Carver performed the first coronary stent at NWMC in Springdale in 1993 and assisted in the first defibrillator implant at NWMC in Springdale in 1989. Dr. Carver is also committed to community involvement and public education on health related issues. He is the founder of the Jones Family Resource Center, which assists more than 40 non-profit agencies, and serves as Trustee and CEO for the Jones Center for Families. In 2002, Dr. Carver was honored with the prestigious Vision Award presented by Washington Regional Foundation in recognition of his positive impact on the health of Northwest Arkansas.
